Poundland has branched out to interior design and DIY by selling stick-on-wall tiles for the first time.
The pilot scheme sees the discount retailer stock a limited edition of stick-on-wall tiles in 660 stores across the UK, giving customers the chance to refresh their kitchen or bathroom at a fraction of the price at DIY retailers.
The tiles – which come in varying patterns and styles – come in a four pack with four different designs at just £2 (50p per tile), which Poundland compared to Dunelm’s £18 for the same amount and similar wall coverage.
We’ve jumped into the interior design industry and we plan on sticking at it,” Poundland’s Kevin Jones said.
“We’re topping the design game and our customers are loving it already – everyone loves a grout bargain.”
The news comes as Poundland ramps up its roll out of Pep&Co shop-in-shops across its estate.
The retailer’s parent company also recently renamed itself to Pepco Group, as part of a growth strategy that includes optimising its existing Poundland stores in the UK.
